Although all courses are taught from a standard set of Work Write, Inc. materials, all workshops can be customized to meet the client's specific needs. Prior to the course, Work Write, Inc. president Cheryl Lockett Zubak reviews your current online help or printed documentation and uses these documents to guide the courses she teaches at your site.

Types of Courses

 Behind the Scenes. Understanding the coding behind HTML-based information is an important foundation for many authoring tools. These courses provide in-depth information on how the development environments - HTML Help, Help 2.0, and HTML itself - work. 

 Tool Basics - and Beyond. Having an in-depth, hands-on introduction to the authoring tools you use is imperative to online help development. These courses, covering such popular authoring tools as RoboHelp Classic, RoboHelp HTML, and ForeHelp, provide not only a foundation in how the tool works but best practices in putting the tool to best use on your projects. 

 Online Design. These design courses, based on Cheri's books on online help design, instruct you on the research and methodologies that will help you to produce better online help systems. We'll won't just do theory, though; we'll look at lots of examples of help systems, including your own.

 Online Writing. We help authors get so involved in understanding how our tools work, and who can blame us, considering how often our tools change? It's easy to forget that useful content is what users are really looking for. These courses focus on developing strong content for online help systems and websites.
